First
Baptist Church After School Care (ASC) provides care
for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Our
goal is to provide a safe, responsible, loving and Christian
atmosphere for children through planned activities,
monitored homework time, small group activities and
outside play. There are planned activities and games
in which the children participate; however, each child
is also free to play with friends in an unstructured
environment. We are open to children without regard
to race, color, religion or national origin.
Our program started in 1991. Many of our children
start with us in kindergarten and continue through sixth
grade. ASC begins when children are picked up from school
and continues until 6:00 p.m. We follow the Johnston
County public school calendar. We are open all day from
7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. when school is out for teacher
workdays, Christmas holidays, etc. Our buses pick up
from the following schools:

Elementary
- Wilson
Mill's Elementary
- Four
Oaks Elementary
- West
Smithfield Elementary
- Micro-Pine
Level Elementary
- Four
Oaks Middle
- Smithfield
Middle
When the
children arrive at ASC, they are separated into different
rooms by age levels. A snack is provided and they are
encouraged to go to the homework area if needed or they
can participate in activities, crafts or just "free
time."
Our fee schedule is as follows:
- $30
a week for one child and $23 for each additional
child in the family
- $8 extra
per week per child for all-day care
- $35
registration fee for the first child and $20 for
each additional child
Summer
Adventures
Our Summer Adventures Program (SA) begins Monday,
June 11th and continues until school resumes in August.
We are open from 7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
A child must have completed kindergarten to be eligible
for SA. We provide a morning and afternoon snack but
children need to bring lunch from home. We have an active
schedule which includes weekly fieldtrips, swimming,
library visits, music, arts and crafts and much more.
Registration for SA and ASC begins in mid March of each
year.
